Valley of Flowers Known as the most beautiful trek in the world with the blue primula. A Must do trek for you Blessed with exotic flowers faunas and magnificent views. This trek will take you to the world of snow clad moutains and high cliffs .Valley of flowers is National Park situated in Uttarakhand State of India
This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals,
including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopardmusk deerbrown bear,
red fox and blue sheep
The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 sq. km and it is about
8 km long and 2 km wide.
LOCATION Valley of Flowers is located 300 Kms North of Rishikesh, near Badrinath. You need to Travel by Road till Govindghat.

How to Reach: The way to valley of flowers starts from Rishikesh . One can reach Rishikesh either by train or bus . Nearest Airport is in Dehradoon. From Rishikesh one can take Bus or taxi to Govindghat situated on Badrinath Road. Govindghat is 280 km from Rishikesh about 10 -12 hrs ride.
RISHIKESH →GOVINDGHAT (280 KM) →TREK TO GHANGARIA(13KM) →TO VALLEY OF FLOWERS(4KM)
From Govindghat, shared taxis up to 4 km and then a trek of
less than 11 km (8.6 mi) brings trekkers to Ghangaria, a small settlement
located about 3 km (about 2 mi) from the valley.
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
The best time to visit valley of
flowers is June to first week of October .
You will find maximum number of flowers in July and August. Valley of Flowers opens on 1st June
every year and closes on 4th October
Valley of
Flowers opens at 7.00 am every day and last entry is allowed till 2.00 pm. You
need to get out of the valley by 5 pm.
What to do there: The best part of trip is the trekking to valley of flowers.
The path goes through lush green forests through clouds, rivers flowing by side . This is purely natural place where you can here sounds of birds with roaring rivers and in front of you snow capped mountains.
The trek to
valley of flowers is common with Sri
Hemkund Sahib yatra .
Sri Hemkund Sahib is Holy Lake nearby Gurdawara Sahib.
This lake is frozen through out the year and only accessible in the months of
June to October. There is Gurdawara Sahib which is Situated at the altitude
15000 feet. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh the tenth Sikh Guru.
From
Govindghat one can go to Badrinath, it
is most important from the four sites in India’s Char Dham pilgrimage.
From Badrinath
3km ahead is Mana village the last village of india.
On the way
to Govindghat you can stop at Joshimath before
20 km Govindghat and go to Auli and
enjoy cable car.
One
can visit : Sri Hemkund Sahib, Badrinath, Mana village, Joshimath & Auli
On returning
stay at Rishikesh or Hardiwar and
attend Ganga Aarti in the evening. Take dip in Holy Ganga to purify your soul.
Where to stay: At Govindghat many hotels are
available under 1000 to 1500 or you can stay at Gurdawara Sahib for free. We book for 900 for night 3 beds.Next night
stay is at Ghangaria where you can find good hotels in low cost upto 1000 .
We book for
1700 for 2 nights and 4 bed and I think that’s the best hotel in Ghangaria. And
other hotels are cheaper than this we also book for 600 for night for one more
day but that hotels is not much good.
In Ghangaria
also free accommodation available at Gurdawara Sahib.
For better
rooms reach early at Ghangaria upto 2 pm.

There is rain anytime so
keep extra cloths in hotel room and do your trek light.
You also find glaciers on
the way please don’t play with snow here and keep distance from frozen rivers
Mobile Networks: There is no network after
Govindghat . At Govinghat only bsnl works. There are landline phones available
at Ghangaria and Govindghat.
Rules in Valley of flowers:
Being a National Park there are
strict rules to follow. Eatables plastic polythene are not allowed inside. There
is visting fee 150/- FEE FOR CONSECUTIVE THREE DAYS TICKET EVEN FOR ONE TIME
ENTRY. Camping and fire are not allowed , last entry is upto 2 pm and You need
to get out of the valley by 5 pm.

by day Itinerary
Day 1 Reach
Rishikesh and stay night at Gurdawara Sahib. Book bus or taxi from near
Gurdawara in evening bus fare is 500 per person and taxi fare is 750 per
person. There is also Govt bus from bus stand book it in evening.
Day 2 Bus
starts at 5am from Gurdawara and reach Govindghat at 5pm (two stops on the way)
stay night at Govindghat.
Day 3 taxis
from here cover 4km trek then trek of 9km to Ghangaria . we reach here at 3pm
and book hotel for two days.
Day 4 Trek
to Sri Hemkund Sahib starts early at morning 4am to 5.30am
It is 6km
trek and you have to return back on the same day . This is toughest part of
trek.
Day 5 Next
day trek to valley of flowers 4km it is moderate trek and most scenic part of
trek.
Day 6 trek
back to Govindghat and took taxi to
Joshimath and stay night here. Book bus tickets in the evening..
Day 7 Bus
starts at 4am to reach rishikesh at 3pm. Take train from rishikesh .
Book train
tickets at Joshimath and not in advance.
